Costs Of Testosterone Treatments

How Much Will TRT Cost Me?

Low testosterone is a growing problem worldwide, more and more men are being diagnosed with hypogonadism (The medical term for low T), the demand for treatment has in fact quadrupled in recent years.

As an example, there are 20 million men in the US alone with the problem.

This article looks at the costs of testosterone treatments .

Low testosterone

Virtually every man aged 35 or over will develop some testosterone deficiency of some sorts, from the age of 30 our natural production depletes naturally by about 1-2% per year.

By the time we reach 50, our natural hormone production could be up to 40% lower than it was in our prime.

Low T is recognised by some common symptoms, these can include:

  • Lethargy
  • Reduced sex drive, poor or weak erections
  • Poor sleep
  • Lost muscle tone, lack of strength
  • Mood swings, tempre tantrums
  • Reduced concentration

Confirmed by a simple blood test, your normal total testosterone levels should range between 300ng.dl and 1000ng.dl.

If they drop below 300ng.dl, you are considered to have low T.

Should this be the case, your doctor will probably suggest a course of prescription TRT.

The Types And Costs of TRT

These can come in the form of:

  • Pills
  • Implants
  • Gels
  • Creams
  • Injections
  • Patches

The costs of testosterone treatments can and will vary depending on the actual treatment type and also where you are in the world.

Those lucky enough to live in the UK will possibly be able to get some or all their treatment free through the NHS. (unless they are private patients)

Everywhere else, you will almost certainly have to pay for some, and probably all of your treatment.

An initial consultation will cost between $200 and $500. Follow up checks and tests are likely to continue at the rate of $300-600 per month.

Some private clinics have been known to charge even more with one course of injections costing the patient upwards of $1000

Do Medical Insurances Cover This Treatment

I have done my research and it appears that most insurers will cover the cost of the initial tests and diagnosis, possibly even the initial course of treatment.

Going forward many do not cover ongoing, lengthy courses of treatment.

I suggest that you speak to and clarify the situation with your insurers before you start.

High Cost Of  TRT

The costs of testosterone treatments is high, and unless you have a good medical insurance, it can be hard to get.

For many of us, the monthly costs of testosterone treatments can be very prohibitive.

Money aside, there is another important factor to consider – Your Health!!

In the US there have been hundreds of lawsuits brought against the manufacturers of certain testosterone products.

The claimants have told the court that the treatments caused them to have heart attacks or strokes.

They claim that the manufacturers of these products knew all about the risk yet failed to make the medical community and the public aware of the problems.

The FDA is monitoring the court cases and depending on the outcome, might consider restricting, or banning certain types of TRT.

NOTE – It has been announced that one manufacturer of a particular testosterone gel (Androgel) has reached settlements with its claimants and has paid undisclosed compensation.

Is There A Cheaper Option

The good news is that there are cheaper forms of treatment, whats more they are generally much safer too.

Why not consider using a natural Testosterone booster?

When compared against the costs of TRT, they are far more affordable ( a good natural T-boosting product will cost in the region of $55-70 per month.

There are some subtle but crucial differences between drug based forms of TRT and natural t-boosters.

Drug based products introduce man made or synthetic forms of testosterone into the body to make up the shortfall.

They do provide some great benefits and effects, but the darker side of these treatments is that there are many side effects to consider. Some as mentioned above can be life changing and even potentially fatal.

A natural T-booster, does not force any foreign hormones into your body.

Instead it provides the body with clinically proven, all natural herbal extracts, minerals and key vitamins that nuture and provide the right environment for your body to step up its natural testosterone production.

As the increased testosterone is your own genetic hormone, it will not effect the body in any negative way, instead all you will experience are the benefits that can include:

  • Improved energy
  • Better muscle tone
  • Rejuvenated sex drive
  • More strength
  • Better sleep quality
  • Improved moods
  • Reduced body fat

The results might not be as instant as drug based TRT, but within a couple of weeks you should start to notice improvements, with increased energy, vitality and ‘va va voom!’
